Tom Robinson – still connecting

Tom Robinson has never given up – whether as a singer, songwriter, campaigner or broadcaster. Over a thirty-year career, Tom has co-written songs with Peter Gabriel, Elton John, Dan Hartman and Manu Katché and whilst his own early hits include 2-4-6-8 Motorway, Glad to be Gay and War Baby his stage performances have ranged from full band rock concerts to duo, solo and spoken word shows.

Tom was a founding member of Rock Against Racism and remains an active supporter of Amnesty International, The National Assembly Against Racism and The Samaritans as well as Peter Tatchell’s Outrage! campaign for gay, lesbian and bisexual rights.

Some people know Tom better in some of these roles more than others, but whether walking out onto a stage, running writing workshops or painstakingly honing a script at home, communication remains key to everything he does. His motto: simply connect.

Now an award-winning radio presenter, Tom can be heard nightly on the BBC’s digital radio station 6Music. He also teaches creative writing, performance and digital storytelling and as Tom is no longer a touring musician this is a rare opportunity to see a veteran performer live on stage.

Still connecting, sharing and breaking down barriers after all these years.
